Vocational training graduates have an important role to play in our economy. Newspapers and Internet sites regularly advertise job offers for these workers who have become a soughtafter work force. An increasing number of employers nowadays are looking for qualified workers with solid competencies and will recruit them in vocational centers as soon as they graduate. Emploi-Québec estimates that for the 2006-2011 period, the Québec economy will generate almost 246 000 jobs. More than 454 000 other jobs will also be created by people leaving for retirement. Nearly 6 out of 10 jobs created will require at least vocational or technical training.

Recent surveys from the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, show that 9 out of 10 employers find their recruits from vocational training very competent. A year after they graduate, ninety-two percent of employers are also satisfied of their recruit’s productivity. This assesment is well reflected in the salary offered to graduates, which has steadily incresaed over the years.
