Québec Skills Competition

Imagine yourself stepping onto a podium to collect a gold medal in your field of study-like a genuine Olympic champion! This could happen to you if you are registered in vocational training. Modelled on the real Olympic Games, the Québec Skills Competition allows young people who are passionate about their future careers to meet the skills challenge and become the best of champions in their trade or occupations.

Hosted every two years, the Québec Skills Competition showcases the talents, skills and know-how that students have acquired during their training. This event mobilizes thousands of young people competing to represent their regions in the Québec finals. Winners of the local competitions go on to represent Québec in the Canadian Skills Competition and even in the World Skills Competition. This event attracts young people from 37 countries, including Canada, the United States, France, Germany and Norway. Thousands of finalists have participated in local, regional and provincial skills competitions since 1992.

These competitions help validate and promote vocational and technical training to the general public. Those in attendance never fail to warmly applaud the competitors' efforts. This type of event is a brilliant way of showcasing the bright future that awaits those in vocational and technical training.

To compete in the Québec Skills Competition, simply contact your school's administration. You can also visit the Québec Skills Competition Web site.
